Children as young as 5 & 9 years old have reportedly broken into their neighbors home and took Christmas presents. They broke into the home using a gift card….can you believe this? If those children had been raised by my mother they’d begin crying & shaking inconsolably at the mere site of a Christmas present of gift cards for the rest of their life. Well, not really as they would have been to frighted to even attempt this nonsense in the first place out of fear of death.
I say discipline and control your kids now so the cops or some crazed vigilante (Joe Horn) doesn’t KILL them later over property.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. – Police in New Jersey said it was a typical holiday Grinch tale: A home was broken into on Christmas Eve, and wrapped presents were stolen off a kitchen table.
Little did they know the culprits were kids.
Authorities in South Brunswick say a nine-year-old girl and a five-year-old boy used a gift card to pick the lock on the back door of a home a block away. They then made off with about $200 in wrapped presents.
The couple who lived in the home returned from some Christmas Eve shopping to find the house broken into, and the presents gone.
One of the children’s relatives who also lived in the neighbourhood spoke with the couple and realized the gifts matched some mysterious extra presents the children appeared to receive on Christmas.
The relative contacted the children’s mother, who got the truth out of them on Wednesday, and then contacted police. No charges are planned.
“A nine-and five-year-old would never be on our suspect list,” said South Brunswick police Detective Jim Ryan said. “For a burglary? Maybe for taking a bike or something like that, but not for a burglary.”

Oh yeah…I wrote something similar on my online journal.
Children today also have this sense of entitlement, as if the world “owes” them something. So parents must be sure to not only discipline their children but instill in them they should work for what they want.
Also how to deal with failure and losing. Many t-ball leagues have adopted the “No Losers” policy, in essence, everyone wins. This, I believe, fails to prepare children for reality because everyone does not win and everything will not be just handed over to you.
Incredible-these kids are as bold as the devil these days! I didn’t read the story…some stories i just can’t bring myself to read.
smh
Wow, that is crazy, but judging by the way the news has been lately I can’t say that I am surprised. Saddened yes, surprised No. I agree with Chocl8t todays spawn… I mean children do have a sense of entitlement, and when you couple that mess with the lack of respect they have, it is a virtual free for all.
Now if the parents beats them some fool will probably call CPS…
IN-CRED-IBLE! The parents need their behinds beat. These kids are obviously raising themselves.
Happy New Year AJ! Peace, Blessings and Prosperity to you and your family.
Man, I would not have even *imagined* doing anything like this when I was 9 years old. I would have immediately zoned in on the operative problem: “If stuff shows up that my parents know they didn’t buy for me, I’ll get my behind beat.” We were poor, but I just had to admire the stuff the other kids got for Christmas, because stealing any of it… well, wasn’t going to happen. I preferred sitting for dinner, not standing
.
I couldn’t agree with you more. Sometimes physical discipline is the best way to rear a wayward child. The bible tells parents “not to spare the rod of discipline…”.
I know that I got my share of whoopin’s growing up and I would like to thank that they aided in my growing to be a fine adult. I thank my mom and dad for that pop in the mouth or the paddle on the butt because it gave me some since of respect for authority which is why I am not a criminal today.
Sometimes you gotta put some heat on dem hindparts to really crooked branch grow straight.
