N-Word Discussion Brings “View” Host to Tears

Why is this woman (Elisabeth Hasselbeck) in tears as she and Whoopi discuss the use of the “N-Word”? I mean really Elisabeth what “pain” has this word ever caused you or your family? This is another example of a certain type of woman “crying” to garner sympathy while expressing “faux” outrage or concern. Give me a dayum break – when you and your ancestors go thru what mine have, give me a call and we can cry about it together.

End of rant.

  1. I feel you on that, I mean WTH?! I am so sick and tired of white folks not getting that they just cannot handle that word properly. It seems to me that she was trying to justify her possible use of the word. No, sweetie.

I have to disagree with The Whoop, though. I feel that everybody has to get that word out of their vocabulary. I am personally on my mission to dissuade my peeps from using it in any matter whatsoever.

Thanks – that’s a show that I definitely would have missed. Peace.

  2. I agree…I don’t think it’s a term that needs to be used anywhere at anytime!! Whites can’t degrade us, but we can degrade ourselves?! That’s ignorant and ridiculous!

  3. Could we all stop the retroric and forget about all words that stereotype others. If we don’t grow up and grow beyond the need for ‘ownership’ of certain words then all humans, regardless or race or physical or mental issue or sexual orientation will will never be one group. Folks, it’s called homo-sapiens!

I often think, as outrages as it sounds, that if a green four armed creature of superior intellegence dropped in from another galaxy that we’d all be running scared and we certainly wouldn’t worry about ownership of certain words.

Can we please look at our simularities instead of harping on our differences. All races have been slaves at one time or an other. After all over 500 years before Christ was born thousands of slaves built the pyramids. Who they were exactly is still to be determind.

  4. Thanks for sharing the video. I haven’t seen the view since Sherry told the world that she didn’t think about the world being round or flat because she was too busy feeding her babies! So I am glad to catch the clip of this “discussion”.
The plain truth of the matter is that it is a word that will continue to be used by people as an insult and as a term of endearment (although I still don’t understand how you can say Nigger and mean it in a good way! But that is just my personal opinion) and nothing is likely to change that.
I don’t give a crap about some white chick crying over it or black folks getting mad over it, your life is what you make it…

  5. Hello there….

Can I get this straight….a white girl on tv started crying when the N word was being discussed….tears of GUILT at the number of times she used it…or tears to make her look racially sensitive for the viewers?

    {raised brow}
    Lisa

  6. I don’t think the term should be used – but I agree with Regina, it will continue to be used as an insult. There is no way this word will disappear from our lexicon.

    But the tears? Child please.

  7. Po’ little white gurl…them two cullerd gals made hur cry!

  8. @SJP – She’s crying cause she can’t call them Nikkas……I mean I just don’t get it. Why does she WANT to be able to use the word?

  9. Why was she crying!!! What a Tool and a monkey she is…

People it is very simple why white people can’t use the N-WORD

Easy to comprehend here is my example if you don’t get it. I can’t explain it any better.

Women call each other the B-Word all the time right?

    But a Man can’t call a group of women or a woman a B!tch!!!
With out being slapped or told off and that his mother was that.

Cause the Word B!tch was used by all men for so long to demean our women, and also created by men to lower women

so I can resepct that and I don’t call women B*tches.

Get my point. I stay in my lane with this word.

Simple isn’t it, stay in your lane!!!
White people you guys are a strange bunch.
    Just stay in your lane.
    Simple

  10. Here are some simple rules. (Dont need a PHD to get this)

Black people can use this word
White people cannot use the word. (Why dont white people get this ? its so simple. just follow the rules)

  11. on the video. its just embarrasing to even watch it. Its pathetic how phony some people can get. I am at a loss of words for her lack of intelligence on this issue. I am shaking my head reviewing the video in my head. Its just unbelievable.

  12. Strange bunch? We are a strange bunch? Because we have real issues that we deal with as a race does not make us a “strange bunch” – I agree that there is no use for the “N” word in public discourse but give me a break – as usual there is no room in the African American mindset for a real discussion of the problems facing them as a race, it immediately breaks down into a bunch of crying about how they have been downtrodden and treated poorly – I am pretty sure that African Americans today suffer very little racism on a daily basis. They have a victim mindset that blames all problems on whites and the act is getting a little old. You cannot have a conversation with an African American without hearing about their problems from racism. Does racism cause there to be 70% of African American babies born out of wedlock? Does it cause the black on black crime that ravages our streets? No – grow up and get over it – we all have problems – take responsibility for yours!

  13. Jason – you seem to be all over the place today. Who are you to judge african americans?

“I am pretty sure that African Americans today suffer very little racism on a daily basis.”

That statement speaks volumes to your insincerity. We will never be able to have a conversation about race until it is acknowledge that differences still exist in all aspects of life in America. You live a life of white privilege while my family can’t even take a road trip without thinking about which city we stop in for gas.

Once you walk around in this country as a black person – get back with me. You don’t have a clue what you’re talking about. Spouting right-wing talking points and trash from FAUX news.

  14. I don’t even know what to say to this…but Lisa, I think those tears would prove to be a combination of guilt and attempt to garner some sympathy…

    Damn shame…

  15. Hello AJ,

How interesting. Jason isn’t the only person who still doesn’t have a clue about what it means to be Black in America.

I can’t find a valid reason to justify the public or private use of such derogatory terms as the N-word and the B-word. When will we stop harming one another with the words we choose to use for all the wrong reasons?

It will be interesting te see what happens after CNN’s Black In America special that will air this week.

  16. This is in reference to the view, first of all elizabeth is a friend of fox news anchor shawn hannity, and second of all the day that michelle obama was on the view, elizabeth was on hannity and colme’s later on that day talking about michelle obama, she told shawn hannity that michelle obama seemed nervous around her, then she said “i think she was afraid i was going to ask her about the statement she made about not being proud of america” so those tears’s you see are not real, elizabeth is a republican and every chance she get’s she belittle’s barack and michelle obama , so let’s pray for whoppi and sheery because elizabeth is doing all she can to bait whoopi into hitting her , this is all a plan to try to show white america that african american women cannot contain themselve’s, and it is a strategy tactic aimed at michelle obama, their aim is to bring michelle obama down, and they will do it by any mean’s necessary, and they don’t care who they use to do it

  17. aj,

First of all being white is not automatically a privilege. I work and work to make my way just like you probably do. My p;oint is that when some idiot(s) on the view (Whoopi and Elizabeth) dictate what the state of race relations is in America, I have a big problem. The second thing is I dont think I need to be black to see what goes on – as a business owner I know that I will hire the most qualified person, be it white black or green, to fill the positions I have. And with the wide variety of government hiring preferences, government aid, and cultural give aways it is hard to say that opportunities to succeed are not available to African Americans. The government on both sides has a vested interest in keeping you and I unhappy with each other so we never figure out that they are the ones giving us the shaft. We need unity, not a bunch of tired black panther slogans from the 60’s – things have changed for the better as far as black opportunity goes – and for you to deny that makes me worry that no matter what advantage you are provided your race will perpetually claim racism when they do not succeed.

  18. PS – Barack and Mccain are both full of crap – neither one is going to help us in any way – they have the same tired arguments and programs that have failed to make things better for 50 years – working whites and blacks need to unite against supporting the non working whites and blacks and move forward as a country. And, it is nice to share ideas in here – I wish all of us could speak frankly like this all the time.

  19. @Jason

All am gonna says to you re your comments on black issues etal is this -

I pray when you die you are re-incanated back on earth as a black man or woman, then you will really understand what racism is!

…but til then you havent got a clue and never will – you were born white period!

    Peace

  20. @ Jason – The fact that you refuse to recognize white privilege validates that you are not dealing in reality. When you are willing to acknowledge that REAL issues still exist in this country for African Americans we really can’t have a substantive discussion on racial issues. Do you think that most whites in this country have not in some way benefited from the color of their skin and that of their ancestors?

As far as progress – I don’t deny that we have made some progress, but to suggest we are now on equal footing is quite a stretch. We only need to look at our education system, incarceration rate, media stereotypes and laws that punish blacks more severely than whites to see that. We have quite a ways to go before we can declare we have eradicated racism.

As far as the powers that be – I agree that it will take blacks & whites to come together to effect a change in our government which can only happen when we can come together as a human race where we are ALL viewed as equal and realize that we need to work together to ensure our success.

  21. Whites are never going to agree with blacks being equal until the blacks stop blaming us for all of their problems. When a great majority of blacks feel that repairations is a legitimate idea for America it becomes apparent to whites that there will never be peace only more hands out looking for a free ride. I never owned slaves, I do not treat people with disrespect regardless of color, and I understand where all of you are coming from. Your generation has been raised without fathers, without good role models(Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are crooked and not considered a positive influence) , and being constantly told that they need help from “the man” to make it. Name me one other race on earth who has so many people employed as “community activists”, organizers, or who knows what – these are not jobs – they are excuses to make a lot of money by making blacks feel inferior; and it comes from your own race! If for 1 year the black community would stop looking to its racist leaders fro guidance they may find out that being a positive member of society is more fulfilling than constantly playing the victim.
And as for “black and strong”, I dont hope to be reincarnated but if I am I hope it is as a deaf and blind man so I dont have to hear or read your pathetic idea of a political debate – you should take the day off from diversity training and try and come up with a valid argument to my points – I dont agree with aj on much, but at least he has some engaging arguments -
