GOP Finally Called Obama’s Uppity

Well they finally went there.  At least somone in the GOP says what they really mean.  I was wondering how long it would be until they showed their white sheets.   It seems Georgia Republican Rep. Lynn Westmoreland wasn’t given the memo that calling black folks uppity has now been replaced with the word “Elitist”. Oh and BTW he was referring to BOTH Michelle and Barack Obama.  The dude is so outraged that even when given a chance to change his wording he chose not to do so.

U.S. Rep. Lynn Westmoreland, who was born and raised in the South, said Thursday that he’s never heard the word “uppity” used in a racially loaded fashion — and meant nothing more than “elitist” when he applied it to Barack Obama and his wife Michelle.

“If anyone read more into it, no undercurrent was intended,” Westmoreland spokesman Brian Robinson said this evening.

In a Washington D.C. conversation with reporters today, the two-term Sharpsburg congressman was discussing the speech of Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin when he was asked to compare her with Michelle Obama.

  1. “never heard the word “uppity” used in a racially loaded fashion”

PLEASE! Just who does he think he’s kidding or buying this story! A whole lot of southern trees beared “Uppity N*gger” fruit. But, I guess that wasn’t racially loaded either!

  2. Well I’m glad that one of them finally said what they meant.

And no one who is educated, particularly politically; doesn’t know the racial connotations of uppity, no matter where you’re from.
